For as long as I can remember, while being engrossed in the underground music scene *(aka rave scene), many famous DJs along with dedicated followers have understood their music to be a part of their DNA. Through their eyes, music is valued, guarded, revered, and impacts their individual persona. Music selections (if you are anyone with a sense of self) represents the truth of who you are One’s REPUTATION is established because of it.
Essentially, the mindset found within the underground/music scene has always been, “what I play is who I am- it’s what I believe in and how my followers will perceive me.” Music is the Dj’s voice and therefore the DJ is essentially the people’s voice. Is it any wonder then, that there is so much controversy/importance placed on track selection for each artist’s repertoire?? Dj’s and music loyalists have always been their own worst critics and BEST defenders. Most definitely, music is the language of the soul and if the language mis-represents the message of that soul then it shouldn’t be a part of the repertoire. I began to treasure this sort of an attitude early on during my social/music/party endeavor.
Years later and sort of on a completely, different note, I now understand that our nation is undergoing a new transition. These doors have to do with America’s moral decline and alarming societal crime. On a global level, the transition has us entering a new era that many have been talking and hearing about since the beginnings of time? Most people call it the EndTimes. I have reached the time in my life where my voice cannot help but speak the internal truths I’m aware of. Being that music is my voice, you will be able to discover what my knowledge of the times are.
I am a Trance artist delving into he music industry full throttle. I take with me some of the bloodline of DJs and music-extraordinaires botb from San Diego and Los Angeles. The music, culture, and heartbeat of travel for the sake of THE MUSIC and PEOPLE are a huge part of what drives me. The Entertainment facet I now find myself in is a must for me because it’s who I am. I’m driven to tell my story in its various facets for the sake of filling the human soul. Songwriting, acting and dance are a few parts to this equation.
My intentions are to reach into places that are empty and to bring life there. It goes beyond anything famous, anything glamourous… however I’m definitely not against these things. So the question is, will my music be overlooked from my most treasured counterparts of the music scene or will it be encountered, explored and used?!!
Will this new line of music be used to help create artistic, storylines for set production? Will it be offered up to enhance, enrich, empower and take the listener through the DJ’s groundbreaking journey??
Last, I’ll close by looking at the glass half empty. Could this new door of music be easily minimized in the hearts/minds of talented artists. Artist who would refuse to escape the barriers of the past, perhaps due to personal, hidden agendas existing in the few? Will it be rejected simply because the label of “Pop” and “entertainment”??
The lyrics I bring to you are fresh. It’s my hope that they infiltrate any barriers of the past. It’s my desire that any “novelty” it may possess doesn’t ware off- rather keeps taking you higher and higher. This is a time of new endeavors/breakthroughs/discoveries and music is a part of it.
Remember, the underground will always be a part of my music source.
